Residents of The Peninsula, which was first established in 1927 along the northeast shore of White Rock Lake, boast that nowhere in the city is home to such an eclectic mix of homes and residents. Nature lovers have much to enjoy as well. In spring the edges of the neighborhood, bordered by acres of native black land prairie, are a riot of wild flowers.

What the Locals Say About The Peninsula

Locals Love

This lakeside community of about 290 properties has a history that stretches back to the 1950s. With great options for both private and local public schools, the true gem of the neighborhood is its close proximity to White Rock Lake.

Locals Complain

The area can feel like a food desert. Though development is in motion and there are some options, there aren’t many locally-owned restaurants nearby. Expect traffic from Dallasites visiting White Rock Lake.

Fun Fact

The residents frequent the independently-owned coffee shops nearby. Shops like Well Grounded and El Porton are serving up organic coffee and freshly roasted coffee beans within just a few blocks.

Plus, Erykah Badu lives in the neighborhood.
