Centered around its namesake park and the greenbelt that runs along Joe’s Creek, Northaven Park thinks of itself as an oasis in the midst of a busy corner of Northwest Dallas, populated by residents heavily invested in maintaining a strong sense of community. It’s more widely known as home to a collection of streets named for Walt Disney characters.

What the Locals Say About Northaven Park

Locals Love

Its roughly 1,200 homes were built in the late 1950s. Mature trees, large lots, and a 15 minute commute to downtown offers a full package for residents. Northhaven Park is central for this neighborhood, and hosts many of the resident events. Picnics, ice cream socials, and town hall meetings are easy ways to get involved in this very connected neighborhood.

Locals Complain

There is room to modernize the park in the area. Locals are calling for a water feature or more manicuring along Northhaven Trail, a path frequented by many of the residents.

Fun Fact

In the early 1900s, the land upon which Northhaven Park sits was once occupied by the Cox Family, the owners of a large dairy farm in Dallas. Their estate still stands in the neighborhood, and most of the dairy land is now occupied by homes.
