Glen Abbey

The small, gated neighborhood has become one of Dallas’ best kept secrets since it was developed in the early 2000s. Glen Abbey is the perfect mix of small and urban, the community backs up to Bent Tree Country Club and borders White Rock Creek, offering views of rolling hills and mature trees.

What the Locals Say About Glen Abbey

Locals Love

“The gated community is 15 to 20 minutes from the Arts District downtown, meaning that its residents are as close to their seats at the Dallas Symphony Orchestra as the people who live in Lakewood. Many of the homes overlook the green belt that is shared with Bent Tree, and the residents have easy access to both Dallas proper and the northern suburbs. The neighborhood is typically appealing to those who are looking for privacy,” says Doug Newby, a real estate broker with Architecturally Significant homes who works in the neighborhood.

Locals Complain

“The neighborhood is relatively isolated, so you don’t have all of the advantages of those who live closer to the suburban corporate offices. There is less interaction with other surrounding neighborhoods. What people might not know about the area? That it even exists,” says Newby.

Fun Fact

“The land was once owned by Texas financier John Murchison. The original homestead is located in the neighborhood, which sits on rolling land that was later sold and developed,” says Newby.
